If you know a Boy Scout or troop leader, pass it on. Bring your troop to Studio South to earn merit badges in the cottage and domestic arts, as well as beekeeping, bookbinding, basketry, gardening, public speaking, reading, etc . I'm a certified art, English, elementary, & gifted teacher and former Brownie, Girl Scout & troop leader. Let's get crafty and earn those badges, Scouts.
I rarely eat doughnuts, but today is an exception. I need a little sewing sustenance with these local, hand-crafted beauties: Bavarian crème and raspberry from Maynard's next to Studio South. Krispy Kreme, Smispy Kreme who? Keep it 9 Mile Local, y'all!
Bring your troop to Studio South for life lessons in the cottage and domestic arts. I'm a certified art teacher and former Brownie, Girl Scout, & troop leader. Let's get crafty and earn those badges, ladies!
Day 107: Happy Saturday! It's a beautiful day to make. Summer's coming to an end for me so I'm working on a school wardrobe. I'm gonna try this new pattern. Fingers crossed.
Day 105 is bitter sweet at Studio South. The studio dog's owner picked her up this morning. I have very mixed emotions about allowing her to go home to some very questionable conditions, but I have great faith in believing that someone needed her more than I do right now. Should things change, Hope (finally I know her name) will find her way home to my house.
Day 103 brings I-magination with a capital I from my new amazing artists: Ripley and Lottie Vignes. Who would have thought that nose painting, fingerprinting, paper shoes, and pipe cleaner magic could be done in a morning??? I can't wait to see you, creative genius, again. Not only did they leave me with a warm heart, huge smile, and several orginal works of art, but perhaps the best compliments: Ripley says, "You're in the the top two: I like the Mess Hall and you." Lottie remarks, "You're up there with Disney and Big Kahuna!" What more could I ask for? Happy Tuesday, y'all!
I need another dog like I need a hole in the head. But thinking about the Stones' song, "...you can't always get what you want, ...but you'll find, you get what you you need." This blessing may not be what I need, but perhaps what she does. Until she and I figure it out, I'm fostering the sweetest baby pup.
Studio South is a dream come true! In just a two months, an idea that's been stirring for many, many years has turned into a reality with the help and blessing of family, friends, and strangers who were destined to be part of Studio South's story. I hope you too will be part of her magic and help me change someone's world one stitch, one stroke, one smile at a time.
