Event: Machine Sewing 101 Series

Skill Level: beginners-intermediate ages 12-90+
Description: This workshop explores the basic skills of machine sewing in four sessions. Take them all or choose the ones you need. Workshop 1 begins with understanding your machine and the tools of sewing, such as threading, filling & loading your bobbin, the difference between pinking shears and scissors... In the next session, we will read a basic pattern, learn the language of sewing, and layout a pattern. Workshop 3 brings us seamstress Joy Tyner who will show us how to add buttons and zippers to a project. During our final meeting, artists will layout an apron pattern and begin the making process of an apron.
